Is trolling a threat to social media success?

Image
While social media is a great tool to build a team of loyal followers, it also is subject to attacks from random trolls. 😡😡😡 Popular celebrities in sports, movies or politics are frequent targets of trolling. Because they have high visibility online. If a famous celeb gets frustrated with constant trolling and responds to a troll, that reply spreads quickly. So, the person who trolled also gets free publicity although negative.  Its recommended to not react to trolls and continue to share your honest thoughts about an important event in your life. Example: K. L. Rahul, captain of the new IPL team Lucknow Super Giants, recently tweeted about a brave fight his team put on against the other new team: Gujarat Titans. Although LSG eventually lost the low scoring match in the last over. So, the fans got frustrated and started trolling Rahul. Was the Will Smith slapping incident staged for social media?

Image
During the 94th Oscars event, comedian presenter Chris Rocks made fun of Will Smith 's wife Jada Pinkett Smith by mocking her hair (which is due to a rare medical condition). Will was offended and impulsively reacted by getting up from his seat, walking up towards Chris and slapping him on the stage in front of the entire audience. After Will went back to his seat, he continued to show his temper and warning Chris not to involve his wife. 🤯🤯🤯 Will did self introspection, realized his mistake and later apologized to Chris, the Academy, as well as, his family, via an Instagram post. That post received over 3.8 million likes, as of March 28th, 2022 - see that post below. This shows how popular Will Smith is and how a simple apology helped Will stay engaged with his followers all over the world. 🙏🙏🙏 There has been a rumor that this slapping incident was staged to generate media buzz. After this shocking assault by Will (during a live TV show), Chris 's upcoming comedy tour s

What is social media view on hijab in schools?

Image
In a specific religious community, Hijab is a piece of cloth worn around the head and neck, by female gender. So that their face is visible but hair is covered. Certain nations make it mandatory for women to wear a Hijab while others don't require it by law.  In southern India, several girls of a certain religious community, started demanding it as their fundamental right to wear a Hijab when attending classes in a school or giving an exam. The administration of various schools objected to wearing a Hijab because it is not part of the schools' dress code. On the other hand, several celebrity women, who believe in equal rights, such as Anil Kapoor 's daughter Sonam Kapoor and Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu, supported wearing a Hijab by saying it should be a girl or a woman's choice. This controversy also became political as the ruling party favored the school administrations to appease their voters. While the opposition party favored wearing a Hijab in schools to show sup

Are political parties leveraging social media effectively?

Image
Political parties need to reach out to their potential voters primarily for two reasons:  If not in power, convince the voters to vote for them by sharing their manifesto and vision (if elected) If already in power, update the residents of the party's constituency on their progress towards meeting the goals which were promised in the election manifesto and vision Social media tools such as Facebook , Twitter and YouTube are free to use and can be leveraged to meet the above two requirements. But in order to reach the intended audience organically, following best practices need to be applied. When registering for a new account, choose a sensible username. Example: party name (https://www.facebook.com/AamAadmiParty/ or https://www.facebook.com/GOP) Post fresh content regularly (at least once a day or once a week) to highlight party's agenda and accomplishments Include visual content and not just text. Example: image of party leader or video of party workers listening to voters&#

Are social media users left brained or right brained?

Image
Why are some social media users liberal in their thinking while others believe in a more conservative ideology?  Where, liberal implies more socialist approach to life such as free food to the hungry and financial support to the unemployed by increasing taxes on the rich. While, conservative means capitalist form of living. For example, improving job opportunities by reducing taxes on private corporations. And, making abortions illegal because a child in a womb has a right to life.  The general myth prevailing in society is: either people are left brained or right brained.  Based on research, there could be a correlation between brain structure and political thinking. Examples:  Liberalism was linked with the gray matter volume of anterior cingulate cortex.  Conservatism was associated with increased right amygdala size

Is Texting or WhatsApp an effective communication tool?

Image
Positive  side which supports smart phone chat as an effective communication tool "if used properly"... With virtual chat, 1) One gets more time to respond. And higher ability to exclude or hide emotions. Example: if I am crying about the plight of Kashmir Pandits (their exodus in 1990), no one can see me. 2) One gets more content to support their hypothesis. Example: I can google the ruling political party of India in 1990. That’s how found it was National Front. 3) One gets evidence of what they said or what the other person said in the past, for reference in the future. Because past responses are recorded automatically. Texting helps family communicate better with Teens Negative  side which supports chat as an ineffective communication tool “if used inappropriately"... 1) Always use to wonder why people debate, try to collect more facts by chatting over a phone call discussion/face to face discussion - until I found below example.  2) Was walking outside a hospital to

How to maintain friendship in a WhatsApp group?

Image
1. Take every social media post casually or as a joke (not personally). 2. No one is bigger than others in the WhatsApp group. 3. Everybody is important in the group. But no one is too important for the group. In other words, no one is the owner or leader of the group. There can be a team of administrators or moderators who can establish rules of the group: Do's and Don'ts. 4. Everyone should do his or her best. 5. Nothing is original..... All are forwards, so no need to react on every post or comment. 6. Sometimes repeats are there, do not bother. Welcome them. It is normal everywhere. 7. No one gets paid. So it is a thing of love & volunteering efforts. 8. Live your normal life, you are unique & without some of you the group will be boring. 9. Never expect someone else to build the group, but do your best by making your contribution. 10. Groups are always for fun, so let's make & have fun out of whatever is posted. Don't just read a post, make a comment t
