Why The Kashmir Files film IMDB rating drop from 10 to 8.3?

Image
There are two kinds of ratings calculations on IMDB: Arithmetic average Vs. Weighted average . Since The Kashmir Files  Bollywood's movie went viral, it was getting lots of 10/10 ratings! 😲😲😲 So, method used was weighted average , where each vote doesn’t have equal value. Prior, it was arithmetic average where each vote has equal value. Hence, its rating dropped from 10 to 8.3  (from over 532,000 users). This helped preserve reliability of IMDB rating system.   Example: Let’s say 1000 registered users voted. Each voted 10/10.  So, arithmetic average = sum of all ratings / number of voters = (1000*10) / 1000 = 10. Assuming each user had equal impact on the ratings. But let’s say, 500 users have a low impact of 0.4. Because they are less reliable users. Remaining 500 users have a high impact of 1.26. Because they are more reliable users.  (0.4*500*10) + (1.26*500*10) / 1000.    (2000 + 6300)/ 1000 = 8.3  Does everyone agree with my calculat...

A famous politician recently said in Delhi Legislative Assembly : upload The Kashmir Files film on YouTube instead of making it tax free in theatres. So, more people can watch it for free. He continued with his claims that some people are making crores of rupees in the name of the Kashmiri Pandits on whose exodus the movie was made. This controversial statement was made on March 24th, 2022. 🤯🤯🤯 I would argue otherwise using below logic... If The Kashmir Files movie was uploaded to YouTube, it could be flagged by the international YouTube community (in-case its guidelines are violated). And eventually, censored or completely removed from the YouTube site.  So, this drama film (written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri ) won’t reach its intended audience. Hence the purpose of exposing the dark reality of 1990 exodus (and not to recommend its solution) would not be possible to fulfill.  While in theatres, once censor board (CBFC: Central Board of Film Certification) passes, i...
