Was the Will Smith slapping incident staged for social media?

During the 94th Oscars event, comedian presenter Chris Rocks made fun of Will Smith 's wife Jada Pinkett Smith by mocking her hair (which is due to a rare medical condition). Will was offended and impulsively reacted by getting up from his seat, walking up towards Chris and slapping him on the stage in front of the entire audience. After Will went back to his seat, he continued to show his temper and warning Chris not to involve his wife. 🤯🤯🤯

Will did self introspection, realized his mistake and later apologized to Chris, the Academy, as well as, his family, via an Instagram post. That post received over 3.8 million likes, as of March 28th, 2022 - see that post below. This shows how popular Will Smith is and how a simple apology helped Will stay engaged with his followers all over the world. 🙏🙏🙏

There has been a rumor that this slapping incident was staged to generate media buzz. After this shocking assault by Will (during a live TV show), Chris 's upcoming comedy tour saw a spike in the ticket sales. But I feel it was not and was instead real. Because Will loves his wife, is possessive about her and is emotional about her medical condition. Hence, he felt insulted and reacted negatively. Additionally, Will apologized publicly on social media without worrying about his celebrity status.

Since Will is already popular, he doesn't depend on a fake publicity stunt to gain popularity.
